south african artist umlilo debuts new video for “living dangerously” + free ep download

“Cape Town based performance artist and producer Umlilo has released his debut music video for ‘Living Dangerously’ featuring Exorsista Kyla Phil. The video directed by Kyla Phil is an intimate portrait exploring the idea of being isolated in a modern South African landscape where there is high rates of corruption and crime. The androgynous singer and rapper emotionally channels the subject matter in the song, which was inspired by a police invasion at his parents home in Johannesburg. The single, produced by Stefan Wyeth, is the first off of his debut EP ‘Shades of Kwaai’, which was voted as one of Rolling Stone SA’s hottest albums for the month of May and has been playlisted in over 50 countries including United States and France.” And well deserved!
