November 21, 2011

Artist/student/musician Julia Price hails from Greensboro, North Carolina. She told us about her tattoo (she only has one, but what a piece!). Part tribute to her grandmother, part statement about her own personality, check it out below. If you’d like your tattoo(s) to be our next feature, please email us at least 3 pics of yourself and your tattoo(s), and your answers to the questions below to afropunkcommunity@gmail.com .

Name: Julia Price

Age: 18

Occupation: Artist, student, musician

How many tattoos do you have? 1

Which one is your favorite? My whole piece!

What does it mean to you? The leopard print that is across my shoulders symbolizes the individuality of my grandmother and myself; the pattern of leopards has always been something of my character. The passion/eucalyptus plants was inspired by the pulse of a lover, art, nature, and the energy of change.

How old were you when you got your first tattoo? like… 8 weeks into being 18 years old

Why should we feature your tattoo? I love hearing of others and sharing tattoo stories

Do you have a particular tattoo artist you go to? Gene Cash from seven sagas in Greensboro does some sick art!

Have you ever received a tattoo under the influence of drugs or alcohol? No

Do you regret any tattoos you have? Not at all!

Are you a tattoo addict? addict? Hm… I think once I get one piece I get a constant inspiration to either add on to it or express yourself in the moment with some type of bodyart; so that in itself is addicting.
