We just couldn’t get pass 9-year-old Willow Smith’s (daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith) newly released single, Whip My Hair. At nine years old, most youngsters are trying to figure out what to wear to fit in with their fourth grade friends. Willow not only matter of factly states that she is comfortable being who she is, but she says her music is to empower people to let go of their insecurities and to be who they want to be– a complete Afro-punk anthem. Aside from her new track, Willow recently sat down with Ryan Seacrest to explain her new single, announce why she signed to Jay-Z’s label, and to tell people to be proud of who they are.
