Michelle Obama is an overflowing well of wisdom and class so her book was bound to be a hit but our First Lady just opened up in a way that even her most adoring fans could only dream. In her upcoming memoir Becoming, set for release next week according to The Grio, Obama opens up about her battles with fertility and drags 45 with the searing righteousness of a mother whose family was endangered by his inflammatory and bigoted remarks. She essentially came for his edges, or rather, his hair plugs.

Trump’s infamous xenophobic birther tirade was the precursor to his administration and the Former First Lady wrote in the memoir that his words were “also dangerous, deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks,” that could harm her family, specifically her daughters Malia (20) and Sasha (17). “The whole thing was crazy and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed,” Obama wrote. She also admitted that she’ll never forgive 45. “What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? What if that person went looking for our girls? Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this I’d never forgive him,” she continues.

Good. Going high doesn’t mean forgiving Trump because other families have been put in harm’s way and traumatized because of his words and actions. Being the bigger person sometimes means always holding someone accountable for their consistent fuckery.

On top of being candid about Trump’s shenanigans, Obama opened up her fertility troubles, sharing a story about how she suffered a miscarriage 20 years ago. She explained how she felt “lost and alone” and like she had “failed” somehow because miscarriage wasn’t something that was talked about often: understandable considering that it still isn’t as talked about today. Thank goodness Black women authors like Obama and Gabrielle Union are lifting that veil with their words.

Obama also revealed that she and Barack Obama had to undergo IVF in order to conceive Malia and Sasha. “I realized that as I was 34 and 35,” said Obama. “We had to do IVF.” Luckily, we know how that story ends and she was also nice enough to fill in some of the details about their courtship, describing her attraction to her husband being fueled by his “’rich, even sexy baritone’ and by his ‘strange, stirring combination’ of serenity and power.” Phew.

I never thought I could love these two more but here we are. Becoming comes out November 14th. We’re already in line.
