Two years ago, we lost the musical powerhouse that was Prince and in a tribute to the singer on International Jazz Day 2016, our beloved and recently departed Aretha Franklin closed out the performance with a rendition of ‘Purple Rain’. The star-studded affair included legends like Herbie Hancock and Robert Glasper so only a Queen like Franklin could conclude a show like that with such elegance.
