kaytranada shares sade and a tribe called quest remixes!

Kaytranada came out of nowhere to bless us with new music as we count down to his set at AFROPUNK Brooklyn (in just over a week) and Joburg (at the end of the year). Kay was kind enough to dig out his Soundcloud login details to drop two remixes to get us through the rest of this crazy-ass week. Two of the songs that were dropped are remixes of A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘Midnight’, originally from their classic 1993 album ‘Midnight Marauders’, and Sade’s ‘Kiss of Life’ from her 1992 album ‘Love Deluxe’.

‘Kiss of Life’ is already a favorite among fans who have BEEN asking Kay to upload the song. We’re very particular about Sade remixes in these parts but Kay manages to turn the song into something new and enjoyable that respects the essence of the original. ‘Midnight’ remix ‘The Night Is On My Mind’ carries that signature Kaytranada bleed-in-and-out, gifting us with the kind of dynamic listening experience we’d expect from the Tribe themselves.
