Formally ending the 20-year border war that’s killed an estimated 80,000 people, the leaders of Ethiopia and Eritrea announced that the two countries would carry out “the decision on the boundary between the two countries”, ending the conflict. The announcement comes after Prime Minister Ahmed embraced Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki on an airport tarmac where the leaders explained that their countries would resume a peaceful relationship of economic and diplomatic ties, like resuming trade and air transportation between the two. “There is no longer a border between Eritrea and Ethiopia because a bridge of love has destroyed it,”  Prime Minister Abiy said.
