The Confess Project is a one-of-a-kind effort to raise awareness and promote healing amongst black men as it pertains to their mental health and emotional needs. Founded in May of 2016, The Confess Project aims to create healthy dialogue, encourage storytelling and sharing, and the employment of intervention methods for men of color at behavioral risk. So often, men, especially black men, grow up with few if any tools on how to express themselves in healthy ways. In conmes The Confess Project.

Created by founder/CEO Lorenzo P. Lewis who has 9 plus years of experience and receiving educational training related to inpatient and outpatient client treatment for mental health. And every month the org hosts the Empowering Sessions within the community to engage men of color to discuss and open up in an emotional space, as well as engaging in ongoing outreach at middle and high schools and even colleges to share their “Standing Out to Lift Up” and “Whispering Quarters and Safe Havens” curriculums.

An awesome way to end the academic year on our College Tour. Big thanks to @ucsantacruzim for allowing the @theconfessproject to present at Oakes Learning Center. The importance of black male identity, masculinity and post-racism were in-depth discussions. While transforming dialogue to produce our next 21st Century scholars and workforce leaders are very important. Emotional health is key to being holistic for the higher education experience.
