In just her short time working as a professional in the industry, Taylor has shared the stage with artists like Beyonce (internal screaming), Musiq Soulchild, Robert Glasper, and Stevie Wonder. Now having amassed a strong following of fans and young musicians Taylor a.k.a. The Pocket Queen is sharing her wealth of knowledge and awe-inspiring talent for eager learners to pursue their love of music.
She tells AFROPUNK: “People read the name Taylor Gordon on paper and initially they think that I’m a white guy. When they find out a black woman is holding it down on the drums, they’re taken by surprise. Those moments when I see these assumptions shift through the power are when I’m truly reminded that this is a Gift from God.”
