It’s a strange phenomenon, British actors jumping the pond to showcase their Shakespearian methods and whatnot, but what about the Black British actors who not only become successful in their racist white country but ours in America as well! Defying the odds and the systems that try to prevent black stories from being told and black artist from expressing themselves, actors like Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Daniel Kaluuya, Game of Thrones bae Jacob Anderson, Selma’s Carmen Ejogo, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright, Michaela Coel, Harry Potter alum Alfred Enoch, and so many others are paving the way for increased diversity on and off screen. Y’all killin’ it!
