video premiere: embrace yourself unapologetically with the fierce new video by punk duo nova twins, “mood swings”

South East London duo Nova Twins’s signature fusion of punk, grime and hip-hop is hard to ignore. Their latest single utilizes the infectiousness of their distinctive sound to full effect, and its dynamic video is even harder to look away from. An anthemic demand to embrace all parts of ones emotions and attitude, “Mood Swings” splices rousing live footage (including a performance at AFROPUNK London) with moody underwater visuals of the Twins, a product of their strict DIY approach to producing their own music, videos and outfits.

“It’s about embracing yourself for the good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between!” Nova Twins explains. “Because of unrealistic social pressures I think people struggle with their identity [but] the mind is such a complex thing and we want people to be comfortable in their skin. We enjoyed directing this video and getting creative, experimenting with different lighting and elements that we felt reflected the song’s energy.”
