The Solution Sessions – a social salon, is a unique space within the weekend’s programming that provides an opportunity to mobilize, inspire, engage, inform, and to rally some of our brightest around the importance of civic participation, diverse thinking, and encouraging attendees to envision themselves making a difference & supporting social innovations.

These curated talks feature dynamic orators & personalities addressing audiences on a myriad of topics, issues, concepts, that are solution based. Sponsoring the Solution Sessions are Drug Policy Alliance and Planned Parenthood.

This year, we were so honored to bring activists, educators, and organizers like Matthew Kincaid, Kemba Smith Pradia, Mary-Pat Hector, Paul Bulter, Melissa Harris-Perry, activist/MAD FREE’s Michaela Angela Davis, and so many others.

First up at 12pm EST is Reclaiming Our Time and Bodies hosted by the incredible Michaela angela Davis, featuring a community dialogue with community organizer and Just Think Twice founder Mary-Pat Hector, SisterSong’s Monica Simpson, political strategist and Three Point Strategies founder Jessica Byrd, and CNN reporter and President of the White Dress Project, Tanika Gray Valbrun.

At 2pm EST. author and professor Melissa Harris-Perry and scholar and commentator Dorian Warren will host FREEDOM on TAP where we face up to the sobering realities of life in America today by getting drunk on liberation, featuring ‘Insecure’ star Yvonne Orji and Alencia Johnson of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
