nas and lauryn hill launch ‘powernomics’ tour to support black economic empowerment

Naturally, side-stepping formalities, last night in Chicago, Nas and Ms. Lauryn Hill announced that they’re headed on the road together for the Powernomics Tour. Named after Dr. Claud Anderson’s book  of the same name, the tour aims to promote secure, long-lasting economic enfranchisement for the black community.

A hefty mission like that isn’t something that can be accomplished by any ‘ol tour. Nas and manager Anthony Saleh have spent several years building a venture capitalist firm, Queensbridge Venture Partners one with investments in more than 40 start-up businesses and organizations STEM, health care, and education. Several of these companies, including Yes We Code, will be the monetary beneficiaries of proceeds from the Powernomics tour.

Nas and Ms. Lauryn Hill’s Powernomics Tour will also feature appearances by Dave Chappelle, Hannibal Buress and Chronixx, Lakim and others.
