A few years ago, Afro-Brazilian designer Maiwsi Ayana launched By MAIA as a streetwear brand for customizable shirts that broke the mold of the status quo. Building off of its bold approach with a careful attention to quality, the company quickly grew into a pioneer of fashion clothes and accessories.

By MAIA’s latest collection, “Mãos Que Tramam” (hands that plot) is a culmination of that evolution, combining techniques of crochet and knitting in collaboration with fellow designers who share the same passion for groundbreaking street wear.

The first part of the collection is done in partnership with Ayana’s mother, Vera Lucia.

“Mãos Que Tramam” will feature coats, shirts, scarves, caps, earrings, necklaces, chockers etc. of various colors and sizes, with all pieces made by hand. Check out our favorites below, and click here to see the full collection!
