Yooooooooo! Mr. Creator is back with his latest creation, and it’s a force to be reckoned with.

Originally claiming fame through outrageous yet extremely entertaining behavior–and violently ironic misogyny–the 26-year old is back showing the true gauge of his artistry.

The release of his 4th solo album, Flower Boy comes at just the right time in the wild rapper’s career. After giving audiences a sneak peek with the early release of tracks “Boredom”, “Ain’t got time”, and “Who Dat Boy/911”, followed by rumors about his sexuality bouncing back in forth, the full-length answers all of our questions and more.

A melodic journey through the realities of adolescence and the concoction of confusion that comes next, this album is a tight mixture of familiar controversy and enticing musicianship.

No matter your opinion of Tyler, there’s no doubt that his tracks are consciously composed to a T–no pun intended. His music is precision disguised as anarchy, and it slaps.

As a cohesive project, Flower Boy is a roller coaster of tempo and refrain that somehow satisfies and inspires with each track. From the unapologetic, ego-fueled “Who Dat Boy”, to the vulnerable “Sometimes…”, to the redemptively nostalgic “November”, each track is a piece to the puzzle as we’re formerly reintroduced to Tyler the Creator.

Featuring the best of today’s alternative icons–such as Kali Uchis, Frank Ocean, and Toro y Moi, and with contributions from legends like Roy Ayers–this may arguably be his most sincere and raw work to date. Capturing all the angst, uncertainty, and bliss of living as he does, this project isn’t afraid of it’s depth, and neither should you be.
