ghanaian fashion designer nina barkers-woode and wild moon jewelry designer asia clarke collaborate to showcase modern african aesthetic

September 2, 2016

With the help of l’âme inconnue, a creative management firm with a commitment to the integration of African designers into the Western marketplace, Ghanaian fashion designer, Nina Barkers-Woode of Barkers-Woode, and Wild Moon jewelry designer Asia Clarke have collaborated for a special project. Inspired by world history and scores of prolific women, Barkers-Woode balances masculinity and femininity to create strong, androgynous pieces while The Wild Moon plays with the dualities of nature and the industrial by incorporating 100% recycled and eco-friendly silver, brass, semi-precious stones and 14k gold into their collection. The innovations of both brands have inspired the following “New Africa” campaign aimed at changing the perception of modern day African style.
