feature: tampa-based photographer christy marie says “i matter, we matter” with powerful portrait series

July 12, 2016

“I Matter, WE Matter” is an ongoing portrait series by Tampa-based creative Christy Marie. Marie is an experienced event and street style photographer where she has demonstrated a certain flare for saturated, sumptuous color palettes. In stark contrast to her other portraits, ‘I Matter, WE Matter’ is shot in black and white, calling attention to the seriousness of the project and also the humanity of it’s participants. No appeasing smiles or entertaining poses here—just unapologetic space-taking and unrelenting proclamation that we matter.
